SAHLAB

Ingredients

  • Cornstarch – 2 tbsp
  • Milk – 4 multi cups
  • Sugar – 3 tbsp
  • Orange-blossom water – 2 tsp (optional)
  • Pistachios – 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
  • Cinnamon (powder) – to taste

Directions

You can use ready to use sahlab powder or use cornstarch and mix it with a few tablespoons of milk and make thick paste.

Prepare the multicooker bowl. Press the “Menu” button, select the “Soup” program and press the “Start” button. Pour remaining milk into multicooker bowl and bring it to a boil. Pour in the sahlab paste mixture, stirring vigorously, so that lumps do not form, stirring continuously, until the milk thickens (about 15-20 minutes). Then stir in the sugar and the rose water or orange blossom water, if you like. Press the “Cancel” button to stop the multicooker.

Serve in cups and garnish with chopped pistachios and cinnamon powder. You may also sprinkle grated coconut on top.

Pour remaining milk into multicooker bowl and bring it to a boil. Pour in the sahlab paste mixture, stirring vigorously, so that lumps do not form, stirring continuously, until the milk thickens (about 15-20 minutes). Then stir in the sugar and the rose water or orange blossom water, if you like. Press and hold the “Cancel” button to stop the multicooker.

Serve in cups with the chopped pistachios and cinnamon as garnish. You may also sprinkle grated coconut on top.
