BEEF STEW (BEES POTJIE)

Ingredients

  • Shin or neck – 1 kg
  • Vegetable oil – 15 ml
  • Garlic – 1 tsp (minced)
  • Onion – 2 pcs (coarsely chopped)
  • Carrot (sliced) – 3 pcs
  • Cheddar cheese – 125 g
  • Cauliflower florets – 300 g
  • Beef stock – 1 tsp
  • Baby marrows (sliced) – 4 pcs
  • Hot water – 50 ml
  • Brown sugar – 15 g
  • Orange juice – 100 ml
  • Salt, black pepper – to taste

Directions

Cut meat into cubes or slice it. Put vegetable oil in multicooker bowl. Press the “Menu” button; select the “Stew” program. And set the cooking time to 2 hours and 30 minutes. By pressing “Time” button and adjust the “Hour” and “Minutes”. Fry meat pieces, season with salt and pepper. Add garlic, onion and sauté until the onion is transparent. Add water, orange juice, brown sugar, beef stock and vegetables. Close the lid and let it cook until the end of the program or until the meat is tender. (Stir it frequently)

Sprinkle with grated cheese before serving.

Serve with baked potatoes.

Cut meat into the cubes or slice it. Press the “Menu” button, select the “Fry” program and set the cooking time to 15 minutes. Fry meat pieces, season with salt and pepper. Add garlic, onion and sauté until the onion is transparent. After that add vegetables, brown sugar and orange juice. Then, select the “Meat” program and set the cooking time to 2 hours 30 minutes. Close the lid and let it cook until the end of the program (or until the meat is tender). Sprinkle with grated cheese before serving.

Serve with baked potatoes.

Cut meat into cubes or slice it. Pour vegetable oil into the multicooker bowl. Press the “Menu” button and select the “Slow Cook” program. Set the cooking time to 2 hours 30 minutes. Let the bowl heat.  Fry meat pieces, season with salt and pepper. Add garlic, onion and sauté until the onion is transparent. Add water, orange juice, brown sugar, beef stock and vegetables. Close the lid and let it cook until the end of the program (or until the meat is tender) while stirring occasionally.

Sprinkle with grated cheese before serving.

Serve with baked potatoes.
