CHILI BEEF STEW WITH RED LENTILS

Ingredients

  • Meat* (beef) – 600 g (cut into 3-4 cm cubes)
  • Onion (large) – 1 pc
  • Carrots (medium) – 4 pcs (peel and сut into slices1½ cm thick).
  • Bulb fennels – 2 pcs (cut lengthwise into long slivers)
  • Tomato red – 3-4 pcs (cut into 8 wedges)
  • Red Chilies – 2 pcs (deseed and thinly slice)
  • Garlic – 6 cloves
  • Red Lentils – 200 g (wash)
  • Olive oil – 2 tbsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Black pepper (powder) – ½ tsp
  • Red vinegar – 4 tbsp
  • Beef stock – 1 pc
  • Water – 3-4 multi cups

Directions

Pour oil into the multicooker bowl. Press the “Menu” button, select the “Stew” program and press the “Start” button. Let the bowl heat for 3 minutes, then put onion, garlic, fennel, tomatoes, chili and meet cubes, sauté a little, close the lid. After 3-5 minutes open the lid, mix and close the lid again. After 5 minutes open the lid and add 3-4 measuring cups of water, red lentils, red vinegar, salt, black pepper and beef stock, mix it and close the lid. Wait until the meat is tender or cook for 10 minutes. As time passes put in the carrots, mix and close the lid. After 15 minutes open the lid, mix and cook for 2 minutes more with closed lid. Then, press the “Cancel” button.

Put oil in the multicooker bowl, press “Menu” to select “Multicooker” program. Adjust the cooking temperature to 130°C and cooking time to 1 hour. Press “Start”. Let the bowl heat for 3 minutes, put onion, garlic, fennel, tomatoes, chili and meet cubes, sauté a little, close the lid, after 5 minutes open the lid, mix, close the lid again. After 5 minutes open the lid and add 3-4 measuring cups of water, red lentils, red vinegar, salt, black pepper and beef stock, mix it and close the lid. Wait until the meat is tender or cook for 20-25 minutes. As time passes put the carrots, mix, close the lid. After 20  minutes open the lid, mix and cook for 2 minutes more with closed lid. Press “Cancel” button.

Put oil in the multicooker bowl, select the “Stew” program. By pressing the “Product” button go to the “Meat” section. Press and hold “Start” button. Let the bowl heat for 3 minutes, put onion, garlic, fennel, tomatoes, chili and meat cubes, sauté a little, close the lid, after 5 minutes open the lid, mix, close the lid again. After 5 minutes open the lid and add 3 measuring cups of water, red lentils, red vinegar, salt, black pepper and beef stock, mix it and close the lid. Wait until the meat is tender or cook for 35 minutes. As time passes put the carrots, mix, close the lid. After 10 minutes open the lid, mix and cook for 2 minutes more with closed lid. Press and hold “Cancel” button.
