MEATLOAF (BOBOTIE)

Ingredients

  • Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp
  • Onion (finely chopped)  – 2 pcs
  • Beef mince  – 700 g
  • Milk  – 1 multi cup
  • Raisins –  ½ multi cup
  • Apricot jam  – 1 tsp
  • Curry powder  – ½ tbsp
  • Chutney (any) – 1 tbsp
  • Bay leaf – 1 pcs
  • Pinch of salt

Directions

Press the “Menu” button and select the “Fry” program. Heat the oil (in 3 minutes) fry onions until soft for about 8-10 minutes. Add curry, salt and pepper. Then add beef mince and cook until brown. After that, press the “Cancel” button.

Pour milk into a separate bowl and dip the bread in the milk, squeeze out all the excess milk. Set the milk aside. Add the squeezed bread to the beef mixture. Stir in the raisins, apricot jam and chutney. Press the “Menu” button; select the “Bake” program and set cooking time for 20 minutes. By pressing “Time” button and adjust the “Minutes”. And close the lid.

While the bobotie bakes, whisk together the milk (from the bowl), egg, and a pinch of salt.

After the end of the program pour the prepared mixture over the mince. Put a bay leaf on top. Press the “Menu” button, select the same program and set the cooking time to 25-30 minutes. Let it cook until the end of the program. Remove bay leaf before serving.

Press the “Menu” button and select the “Fry” program. Once the bowl is heated (in 2 minutes) fry onions until soft for about 10 minutes. Add curry, salt and pepper. Then add beef mince and cook until brown. After that, press the “Cancel” button.  Pour milk into a separate bowl and dip the bread in the milk, squeeze out all the excess milk. Set the milk aside. Add the squeezed bread to the beef mixture. Stir in the raisins, apricot jam and chutney. Press the “Menu” button, select the “Crust Rice” program and set cooking time for 20 minutes.

Add curry, salt and pepper. Then add beef mince and cook until brown. After that, press the “Cancel” button.

Stir in the raisins, apricot jam and chutney. Press the “Menu” button and select the “Cake” program. Set the cooking time to 20 minutes. Keep the lid closed until the end of the program.
