CHICKEN MASALA

Ingredients

  • Yogurt – 1 multi cup
  • Lemon juice 
 – 1 tbsp
  • Cumin powder
 – 2 tsp
  • Cinnamon powder 
 – 1 tsp
  • Cayenne pepper 
 – 2 tsp
  • Black pepper 
 – 2 tsp (freshly ground)
  • Fresh ginger – 1 tbsp (minced)
  • Salt – to taste
  • Chicken breasts – 3 pcs (cut into bite-size pieces)
  • Butter – 1 tbsp
  • Garlic 
 – 1 clove (minced)
  • Jalapeno pepper – 1 pc (finely chopped)
  • Paprika 
- 2 tsp
  • Salt – 3 tsp (or to taste)
  • Tomato sauce – 1 can (8 oz.)
  • Heavy cream – 1 multi cup
  • Fresh cilantro – ¼ multi cup (chopped)

Directions

In a large bowl combine yogurt, lemon juice, cumin, cinnamon, cayenne, black pepper, ginger and salt. Stir in chicken, cover, and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Pour oil into the multicooker bowl. Press the “Menu” button, select the “Fry” program and press the “Start” button. Let the bowl heat for 3-5 minutes. Put chicken and fry it for 3-5 minutes. Press the “Cancel” button and keep chicken aside.

Put butter in the multicooker bowl. Press the “Menu” button, select the “Stew” program and press the “Start” button. Let the bowl heat for 3 minutes. Melt butter, sauté garlic and jalapeno for 2-3 minutes. Season with cumin, paprika and salt. Stir in tomato sauce and cream. Simmer until sauce thickens (about 10-15 minutes). Add chicken and simmer for 10 minutes. Press the “Cancel” button. Garnish with fresh cilantro.

In a large bowl combine yogurt, lemon juice, cumin, cinnamon, cayenne, black pepper, ginger and salt. Stir in chicken, cover, and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Put butter in the multicooker bowl, press “Menu” button to select “Multicooker” program. Adjust cooking temperature to 130°C and cooking time to 40 minutes. Press “Start” button. Let the bowl heat for 3 minutes. Melt butter, sauté garlic and jalapeno for 2 minutes. Season with cumin, paprika and salt. Stir in tomato sauce and cream. Simmer until sauce thickens (about 10-15 minutes). Add chicken and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Press “Cancel” button. Garnish with fresh cilantro.

Put oil in the multicooker bowl, select the “Fry” program. By pressing the “Product” button go to the “Poultry” section. Press and hold “Start” button. Let the bowl heat for 3 minutes. Put the chicken and fry it for 5 minutes. Press and hold “Cancel” button and keep chicken aside.

Put butter in the multicooker bowl, select the “Stew” program. By pressing the “Product” button go to the “Vegetables” section. Press and hold “Start” button. Let the bowl heat for 3 minutes. Melt butter, sauté garlic and jalapeno for 2 minutes. Season with cumin, paprika and salt. Stir in tomato sauce and cream. Simmer until sauce thickens (about 20 minutes). Add chicken and simmer for 10 minutes. Press and hold “Cancel” button. Garnish with fresh cilantro.
