Ingredients

  • Brown lentils – ¾ multi cup
  • Water 
 – 4 multi cups
  • Long grain rice (uncooked) – ¾ multi cup
  • Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp
  • Onion (large) – 2 pc (chopped)
  • Garlic – 4 cloves (minced)
  • Canned diced tomatoes 
 – 1 (15.5 oz. can)
  • Red pepper flakes – ¼  tsp
  • Salt and pepper – to taste

Directions

Combine the lentils and water in the multicooker bowl. Press the “Menu” button, select the “Soup” program and press the “Start” button. Simmer for 20 minutes. Then add the rice to the lentils, and continue to simmer for 20 minutes, or until rice is tender. Press the “Cancel” button. Transfer the lentil and rice to a large serving dish.

Pour oil into the multicooker bowl. Press the “Menu” button, select the “Stew” program and press the “Start” button. Let the bowl heat for 3 minutes. Add onion and garlic; cook and stir until onion is lightly brown. Put in the tomatoes and season with red pepper flakes, salt and pepper. Simmer for 10-20 minutes. Press the “Cancel” button.

In a large serving dish, stir together the lentils, and rice. Mix in the tomato sauce until evenly coated.

Combine the lentils and water in the multicooker bowl. Press “Menu” button and select the “Multicooker” program. Adjust the cooking temperature to 130°C and cooking time to 40 minutes, then press “Start” button. Simmer for 20 minutes. Then add the rice to the lentils, and continue to simmer for 20 minutes, or until rice is tender. Press “Cancel” button. Transfer the lentil and rice to the large serving dish.

Put oil in the multicooker bowl, press “Menu” button to select “Multicooker” program. Adjust the cooking temperature to 130°C and cooking time to 30 minutes, press “Start” button. Let the bowl heat for 3 minutes. Add onion and garlic; cook and stir until onion is lightly brown. Pour in the tomatoes and season with red pepper flakes, salt and pepper. Simmer for 10-20 minutes. Press “Cancel” button.

Combine the lentils and water in the multicooker bowl. Press “Menu” button and select “Boil” program. By pressing the “Product” button go to the “Vegetables” section, press and hold “Start” button. Bring water to boil and simmer for 25 minutes. Add the rice to the lentils, and continue to simmer for 20 minutes or until rice is tender. Press and hold “Stop” button. Transfer the lentil and rice to the large serving dish.

Put oil in the multicooker bowl, select the “Stew” program. By pressing the “Product” button go to the “Vegetables” section. Press and hold “Start” button. Let the bowl heat for 3 minutes. Add onion and garlic; cook and stir until onion is lightly brown. Pour in the tomatoes and season with red pepper flakes, salt and pepper. Simmer for 10-20 minutes. Press and hold “Cancel” button.
