CHICKEN SPICY GARBANZO POTATO CURRY

Ingredients

  • Chicken breast – 2-3 pcs (cut into strips)
  • Potatoes – 4 pcs (peeled and diced)
  • Vegetable oil 
 – 2 tbsp
  • Onion – 1 pc (diced)
  • Garlic 
 – 3 cloves (minced)
  • Cumin powder – 2 tsp
  • Cayenne pepper – 1 and ½ tsp
  • Curry powder 
 – 4 tsp
  • Garam masala – 4 tsp
  • Ginger root 
 – 1 inch piece (peeled and minced)
  • Salt – 2 tsp
  • Canned tomatoes (14.5 oz.) – 1 can (diced)
  • Canned garbanzo chickpeas (15 oz.) – 1 can (rinsed and drained)
  • Canned green peas (15 oz.) – 1 can (drained)
  • Coconut milk in can (14 oz.) – 1 can

Pour oil into the multicooker bowl. Press the “Menu” button, select the “Stew” program and press the “Start” button. Let the bowl heat for 3-5 minutes, put onion, garlic, chicken and potato, cook and stir until the onion is soft and translucent (about 3-5 minutes). Season with cumin, cayenne pepper, curry powder, garam masala, ginger, and salt; cook for 3-5 minutes more. Add the tomatoes, chickpeas and peas. Pour the coconut milk, and bring to a simmer. Simmer for 20-30 minutes. Press the “Cancel” button to stop the multicooker.

Put oil in the multicooker bowl, press “Menu” button to select “Multicooker” program. Adjust the cooking temperature to 130°C and cooking time to 35 minutes. Let the bowl heat for 3-5minutes, put onion, garlic, chicken and potato, cook and stir until the onion is soft and translucent (about 5 minutes). Season with cumin, cayenne pepper, curry powder, garam masala, ginger, and salt; cook for 3-5 minutes more. Add the tomatoes, chickpeas and peas. Pour the coconut milk, and bring to a simmer. Simmer for 20 minutes. Press “Cancel” button to stop the multicooker.

Put oil in the multicooker bowl, select the “Stew” program. By pressing the “Product” button go to the “Poultry” section. Press and hold “Start” button. Let the bowl heat for 3 minutes, put onion, garlic, chicken and potato, cook and stir until the onion is soft and translucent (about 5 minutes). Season with cumin, cayenne pepper, curry powder, garam masala, ginger and salt; cook for 2 minutes more. Add the tomatoes, chickpeas  and peas. Pour the coconut milk and bring it a boil. Simmer for 20 minutes. Press and hold “Cancel” button.
